The WrestlingSox® Concept

The old red and green anklets are going away! The “anklets” will be replaced by WrestlingSox®.

WrestlingSox® are “maximum performance socks” purchased and worn by the individual wrestler. The concept takes into consideration views from the wrestler, the coaches and the referee.

As a wrestler I am prepared when I step on to the mat to be either red or green. I will not lose my Psyched-Up state of mind messing with anklets. I can quickly tuck in the top cuff of one sock to become identified as red or green. I can do this at the scorer’s table or on the mat.

If I compete at a heavier weight, I don’t have to worry about losing my “anklet” because of limited sizes.

“I never have to handle the unsanitary, sweaty, smelly anklet again”, thanks Mom!

Coaches can now outfit their teams in uniform matching socks that are functional, fashionable and sanitary. (Coming Soon: team colors available through custom orders)

WrestlingSox® are within the guidelines of Special Equipment as described in the NFHS Pre-season Guide; 2009-10; Wrestling.

Stated in the article: Excessive Length of Socks a Concern. The article reads: “Excessive sock length a concern due to the fact that the wearer could gain an advantage”.

It continues, “If, in the opinion of the referee, socks pose a disadvantage they should be ruled illegal and would have to be corrected before the wrestler takes the mat.”
